The way is open for Pokhara Airport to cross Rithepani hill
Kathmandu,
For the safety of Plane landing at Pokhara Airport, the Rithepani hill on the east side of the runway has to be cut.
For this, the work was stopped due to non-receipt of the order to cut down the trees on the hill. The cabinet meeting decided to allow the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to cut down trees and poles on the eastern side of the runway strip of Pokhara Regional Airport on the proposal of the Ministry of Forest and Environment.
Government spokesperson Parbat Gurung made this known while announcing the decision of the cabinet on Sunday. The decision was taken at a meeting of the government on Falgun 20. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, 100 to 150 trees will have to be cut down on this hill. NEA Director General Rajan Pokharel said, "There are not many trees. As soon as the permission is given, the work will pick up speed." Large Plane will not be able to use both sides of the runway for take-off and landing from this airport. This hill has to be cut in the direction of the ship taking off and landing.
